Oleg Karavaychuk

Oleg Nikolayevich Karavaichuk (Russian: Оле́г Никола́евич Каравайчу́к; December 28, 1927 – June 13, 2016) was a Soviet and Russian composer, author of music for many movies and theater performances. He was born in Kyiv. Karavaychuk worked with Sergei Parajanov, Vasily Shukshin, Ilya Averbakh,[1] Kira Muratova (Brief Encounters, The Long Goodbye) and others.[2] Karavaychuk also worked with the avant-garde, in particular Sergey Kuryokhin.[2][3]

Karavaychuk died on June 13, 2016, in St. Petersburg, aged 88.[4]
